The constitutional court in Kuwait on Sunday overruled a forwarded petition against the unconstitutionality of Article 16 of the National Assembly bylaw.
The objection was submitted by MP Waleed Al-Tabtabaei asking the court to suspend the implementation of its earlier ruling that means that the memberships of two deputies must be revoked.
Article 16 violated the constitution, according to the court. It scrapped the article and called for dealing with any consequences that may have resulted from using the article.
The court of cassation amended the sentence of the court of appeal issued on Nov. 27, 2017, and sentenced 13 suspects 3.6 years in prison including Harbash and Tabtabaei and 3 others to two years in prison.
