Saudi Arabia said on Wednesday that the number of coronavirus infections has reached 2,932, while 631 cases have recovered in the Kingdom.
Four studies by infectious disease experts indicated the number of cases was likely to reach between 10,000 and 200,000 in coming weeks, Health Minister Tawfiq al-Rabiah said in a televised address earlier.
He also urged citizens to adhere more closely to state directives against mixing and movement.
Kuwait
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced Wednesday that six new patients recovered from novel coronavirus, bringing the total to 111 recoveries.
Also, 78 people were infected in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 743 cases.
Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad indicated that the new cases included three Bengali nationals, 56 Indians, three Egyptians, two Iranians, in addition to five other individuals from different nationalities.
Oman
Meanwhile, Oman registered 48 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of those infected to 419, the country's Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
"The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced the registration of 48 new confirmed cases of (COVID-19 bringing the total number of cases registered in the sultanate to 419, including 72 recoveries and two deaths," the ministry said in an official statement.
The ministry called on all citizens to stick to all preventive measures needed to stem the spread of the pandemic.
The government also said it would close Muscat as of April 10 until April 22.
The United Arab Emirates
In the UAE, 283 new cases were registered bringing the total number to 2,359 on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention also announced the death of an Asian citizen who suffered from chronic diseases, bringing the number of deaths in the country to 12.
The newly diagnosed patients of various nationalities are in a stable condition and receiving the necessary medical care,'' the Ministry affirmed.
