Kuwait has asked its citizens to delay their travel plans to Singapore because of the coronavirus concern.

The Kuwaiti Embassy in Singapore made the announcement on Saturday after the government of the Asian city-state raised its alert level over China's coronavirus outbreak.

Singapore, which has reported 33 cases, raised its alert level Friday to "orange.”

In a statement published by Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, the embassy called on Kuwaitis desiring to travel to Singapore to wait until things get back to normal, also urging its citizens in the city-state to leave immediately.

It stressed the importance of following up the instructions of the local authorities, and avoid crowded places and shopping malls.
