Kuwait has temporarily suspended flights to and from its international airport due to bad weather and heavy rains that have impacted visibility.

Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported that arriving flights have been redirected to other airports in nearby countries due to heavy rains and poor visibility. Flights are being redirected to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain's airports.

"All flights departing from Kuwait international airport are suspended 'Precautionary', and arriving flights will be redirected to Dubai international airport, Bahrain international airport and Dammam airport" the Kuwaiti civil aviation said in a statement.

The government ordered schools, colleges and ministries to close for a second day Thursday.

According to AP, Heavy rain is expected until Friday morning.

Footage posted on social media shows torrents sweeping away vehicles as sewage systems failing to drain the heavy downpour.
