Kurt Zouma's world-class potential at Everton revealed by Football Manager

Despite Chelsea's transfer ban, Everton continue to chase a permanent move for defender Kurt Zouma, who was spent last season on loan at Goodison Park.

The French defender had an impressive 2018/19 campaign for Marco Silva's side, making 29 Premier League starts, scoring twice and registering two assists, helping the club to an eighth place finish in the league.

With Jonas Lossl arriving from Huddersfield already in this window and Andre Gomes expected to complete a move from Barcelona imminently, Zouma would be another huge coup for Everton, but it's likely that the 24-year-old won't be cheap.

So, just how good is Zouma?

And, how good can he become?

We used Football Manager 2019 to find out.

Kurt Zouma - Chelsea

Current Ability: 145/200

Potential Ability: 162/200

Everton fans will know just how good Zouma is, but his Football Manager 2019 profile only further proves his talent.

The French defender has incredible physical attributes, complimented with strong defensive, technical and mental attributes, making him a very well-rounded defender.

His current ability on Football Manager 2019 is 145 out of 200. To put this into context, that's more highly rated than any Toffees central defender, including Yerry Mina (138) and Michael Keane (138).

However, Zouma's potential ability on FM is as high as 162 out of 200. That means that if the France international reached his potential, he could become as good as Vincent Kompany (162) and better than Samuel Umtiti (161), according to Football Manager 2019.

Football Manager 2019 suggests that Zouma is a brilliant young defender, who's only going to get better with more playing time.

If Everton can get the deal over the line, they'll be getting one of the best young defenders in Europe right now, according to FM.
