Kurt Zouma has a warning for his Chelsea team-mates after the win against Crystal Palace

Kurt Zouma has stressed the importance of maintaining Chelsea's winning run after the Blues made it six wins in a row in the Premier League.

Goals from Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic helped the Blues to a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, strengthening Chelsea's grip on a place in the top four, with other sides dropping points below them.

The Blues are up to third ahead of Manchester City's trip to face league leaders Liverpool this afternoon (Sunday), while Frank Lampard's men currently sit nine points ahead of Arsenal in fifth.

And Zouma has spoken of the significance of beating Palace ahead of the latest international break, with Chelsea not in action again until a trip to face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, November 23.

“It was really important to win this one, we were very good on and off the ball and we are happy with that," he said.

Frank Lampard press conference after Crystal Palace win

“For me, as a defender, it is important to keep a clean sheet, and it is not just about one player, it is about the whole team.

“We want to keep winning and playing well, and of course we want clean sheets, but it doesn’t always happen. Clean sheets are always nice, but we know in the Premier League it is hard to do that all the time with great opponents, and sometimes you concede, but this is football."

However, Zouma insists that while the Blues are happy with their current position, sitting level on points with Leicester City and level on points with Ajax and Valencia in their Champions League group, they cannot afford to get complacent.

“Yes we are happy. We just focus on our game, we are working hard every day, but we can’t get too confident," he told football.london.

“We need to keep working hard and stay focused, and keep doing what we are doing well. We have to keep fighting."
