Kurt Zouma, Adrien Rabiot or Kalidou Koulibaly - potential players for Everton to sign in January

The January transfer window is in full swing.

Naturally, that means the rumour mill is whirring and fans are starting to get excited about potential incomings at their clubs.

Everton are yet to bring in any new players but for the summer window but he may ask for a temporary solution in those areas next month.

And while that may mean the Italian boss is happy to stick with the squad he's got right now, members of the ECHO Sportsdesk have had their say about who they'd like to see the Blues bring into the club in this window.

Read on below to find out who the realistic players in world football Everton should, and possibly even could target this winter, as the club look to have a strong second half of the season and build on the foundations laid by Ancelotti and Duncan Ferguson.

Adrien Rabiot

Phil Kirkbride: The 24-year-old midfielder has made just nine appearances in Serie A for Juventus this season, after moving from PSG in the summer.

Carlo Ancelotti handed him his PSG debut in 2012 after the youngster had come through the ranks.

A loan move, for a player, who joined Juve for free in the summer, could be something for Everton to explore.

Kurt Zouma

Adam Jones: This might not be a surprise. It's Kurt Zouma.

Now I know what you're all thinking, he hasn't exactly pulled up trees since his return to Chelsea and the manager who initially brought him to Everton on loan is now gone.

Both good points, but the Frenchman would still be a fantastic option for the Blues to consider.

He fit in with the rest of the Everton squad so well during his time at Goodison Park last season and offered pace and composure on the ball when his side needed it most.

There were some matches towards the end of last term in which the 25-year-old looked imperious, and it really felt as if he had a strong connection with the Evertonians as well.

He's still young enough to develop into an even better player and he's someone we already know fits in with the ideology at Goodison. Now that Chelsea have no transfer ban, why not go back in for the defender?

Kalidou Koulibaly

Chris Beesley: If Everton want to make a statement of intent at centre-back with Carlo Ancelotti at the helm then the obvious choice seems to be Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Senegalese man mountain worked with the new Blues boss at Napoli and has been linked with a potential move to the Premier League - including to Goodison Park - for over two years now.

Perhaps the time is now right with his former gaffer in situ and Neapolitan owner Aurelio De Laurentiis having threatened to sell the entire first team squad after their 'mutiny' over his orders to attend a training camp earlier this season.

Ciro Immobile

Joe Rimmer: Honestly, I don't know how realistic this one is but Carlo Ancelotti might be able to pull a string or two in Italy.

Immobile is 29, so he's not one for the future, but his signing would be a statement that Everton mean business under Ancelotti and his numbers speak for themselves.

In four seasons with Lazio he's managed 26, 41, 19 and at the time of writing 19 in 18 games!

He wouldn't be cheap but he'd certainly be effective.

Lorenzo Insigne

Sean Bradbury: Why not an attempt for Lorenzo Insigne of Napoli to follow his former manager to Merseyside?

Ancelotti was a show of ambition by Farhad Moshiri and the club. Let's see if the Italian can help pull strings and draw in players of a similar stature in the transfer market too.

And Gremio's Everton Soares has been perennially linked with a Premier League move. He seemingly has all the right attributes and he definitely has the right name.
