Donald Trump on Thursday tweeted his condolences to the family of an American killed in a London terrorist attack. Mr Trump called the victim, Kurt Cochran, a "great American" and offered prayers and condolences to his family and friends.
Mr Cochran is one of three victims who died Wednesday after an unnamed suspect drove an SUV through a crowd at Westminster Bridge. The 54-year-old American was vacationing with his wife, Melissa. The two were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, according to a statement from their church.
Police have identified the other victims of the attack as Aysha Frade and PC Keith Palmer. Ms Frade taught Spanish at a nearby college, and PC Palmer served on the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Squad at the Houses of Parliament.
Mr Trump first tweeted about the attacks 13 hours prior, saying he had offered his condolences to British Prime Minister Theresa May.
"She is strong and doing very well," the president reported.
Eight people have been arrested in connection with the attack, but police have yet to name a suspect.
