Kurt Cobain is 'alive and well and living in the south of France'

Only true masters of their craft have conspiracy theorists certain their passing was a ruse decades after their deaths.

Kurt Cobain often falls into this category, alongside Elvis and Tupac.

Now, on the 25th anniversary of his tragic death, he is apparently alive and living in the south of France.

Needless to say this latest sighting should be taken with an ocean's worth of salt, but credit where credit is due - the snap does look a lot like the former Nirvana frontman, complete with the bright glasses he loved to wear.

The picture taken in Nice shows what fans think is the rocker enjoying some sun, even if he doesn't appear to be over 50 years old.

Cobain killed himself in Seattle, Washington, in April 1994.

A gun and a suicide note were found at the scene.

Kurt had written: "The fact is I can't fool you. The worst crime I can think of would be to rip people off by faking it."

It was later ruled that he had been dead for at least 34 hours.

But some aren't convinced still - and many say he was killed while others suggest it was all made up and he fled fame.

Meanwhile his daughter sent out a poignant message on the 25th anniversary of his death.

Frances Bean, the only child of Kurt and Courtney Love, marked the anniversary by telling people it's okay to ask for help if you need it.

She uploaded an Instagram story to share a black and white photograph of her father as a child.

The 26-year-old, a toddler when he died, said: "If you are struggling with your mental health and need someone to talk to please do not be afraid to reach out to your friends, neighbors, parents, counselors, teachers or even strangers on the internet.

"Needing help is not a weakness. Lets end the stigma and shame towards the stuggle with mental health."

She also shared the number for the National suicide prevention lifeline in the US, 1-800-273-8255.
