KTM Announces When It'll Launch New Bikes, but Have Healthy Skepticism

As a kid riding around on his Yamaha YZ 85, all I ever wanted was a KTM SX 85. As a young adult, I dreamed of a 1290 Super Duke R, and as a more realistic adult, a KTM Duke 890 R. This is to say I was a huge fan of team orange and the Austrian brand's renegade Ready to Race attitude, but less so after it went renegade with the managing of it's funds and hurt a lot of riders and off-road championships.

So, this latest announcement comes with a healthy dose of skepticism, not cynicism. KTM has laid out a timeline for its 2026 off-road lineup.

Speaking about the lineup, the brand states that it's "presenting a sharpened focus on competitive performance across all categories. Developed with direct input from top-level racing, the new range underscores KTM’s commitment to pushing the limits of off-road capability and maintaining its position at the forefront of the sport."

The lineup will roll out in phases and will be as follows:

  • Motocross: July 30
  • Mini-Motocross: July 30
  • Cross Country: July 31
  • Enduro: August 5

The reasoning behind each off-road category being revealed individually is that it's supposed to give riders and teams around the globe a date to look forward to on their calendars. The specific updates to each model are yet to be announced, but KTM claims that riders can expect "factory-inspired chassis updates to cutting-edge electronics and state-of-the-art connectivity features for off-road racing". You can keep track of each category as it's updated here.

When rumors swell about KTM's factory MotoGP star looking to jump ship due to uncertainty surrounding bike development and whether the brand will even be on the grid in the near future, it's easy to dismiss how serious the updates will be for the company's off-road lineup in 2026.

But let's not be cynical, KTM has dominated the off-road world before, and here's hoping it'll put out some stellar bikes again.
