If there’s one class of motorcycle that has completely lost touch with sanity (in the best way possible, might I add) it’s the hyper-naked. These bikes aren’t built for beginners or even rational riders. They exist for those who think 150 horsepower just isn’t enough and that “ride modes” are more like polite suggestions.
From early hooligan icons like the Triumph Speed Triple to the modern crop of beasts like the Ducati Streetfighter and Aprilia Tuono, the naked bike scene has devolved into a class of motorcycles that throws all logic out the window.
And standing proudly in the middle of that madness is KTM’s Super Duke. The Austrian brand has always treated performance as a kind of religion, and the Super Duke R is its highest priest. The latest version, the 1390 Super Duke R Evo, already delivers around 190 horsepower from its 1,350cc LC8 V-twin, which is definitely more than enough to make your vision blur and your palms sweat.

Now, it looks like the chaos is about to get a luxury-grade sequel. According to French publication Moto-Station, the Brabus and KTM partnership is preparing to unleash the Brabus 1400 R Signature Edition, the craziest evolution of the 1390 Super Duke R Evo turned up to eleven in true Brabus fashion. The two brands have already proven what happens when Austrian aggression meets German precision with the previous Brabus 1300 R. This next one is set to be even more outrageous.
Judging from what we know so far, the 1400 R is expected to retain the Super Duke’s key ingredients: the same LC8 V-twin engine, chromoly steel frame, single-sided swingarm, and semi-active WP suspension. Power figures are likely unchanged at about 190 horsepower, but as Moto-Station notes, the focus won’t be on raw output. Instead, Brabus seems intent on refining every detail: lightweight carbon fiber bodywork, billet aluminum components, and perhaps new adaptive settings for the suspension system to enhance comfort and precision.

Visually, the silhouette hints at a sharper new design language. The familiar round KTM headlight appears to be gone, replaced by a sleeker, more angular unit. The three-spoke “II Evo” wheels, reminiscent of classic Brabus cars from the 1980s, add a touch of heritage flair, while the twin-exit exhaust setup ensures the LC8 soundtrack stays as aggressive as ever. Expect handcrafted touches too—custom leather, machined details, and possibly a few exclusive “Signature Edition” colorways.
If all this pans out, the 1400 R could make its public debut at EICMA 2025 in Milan, with production limited to just a few dozen units worldwide. For reference, the last Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece Edition cost around 50,000 euros, and it’s safe to assume this next one will climb even higher into the stratosphere.
But until anything’s confirmed, we’ll all have to hold our breath. What’s certain is that the Brabus 1400 R will once again blur the line between supercar craftsmanship and superbike insanity. Leave it to Brabus to take a bike that’s already one of the wildest machines ever built and somehow make it even more insane.
