A Brit Award-winning female solo artist is gearing up for a live performance at a historic Welsh castle.
KT Tunstall will bring her worldwide tour to Cardigan Castle in Ceredigion later this month.
The Scottish-born singer, who burst onto the scene in 2004 with platinum-selling album Eye to the Telescope, is playing a number of gigs across the UK, America, Japan and China.
Thrust among those dates is an open-air performance at the 11th century castle in the centre of Cardigan.
The concert will have a capacity of around 1,500 and has already proved hugely popular with music lovers from west Wales and beyond, with tickets almost sold out.
This tour represents something of a rebirth for Tunstall, who relocated to California following the death of her father and a divorce from her husband.
She is now in the middle of a trilogy of albums, the second of which - Wax - was released late last year.
Since then she’s performed a number of sold-out concerts across the country and recently toured with artists including The Pretenders, Simple Minds and Gary Barlow.
The castle, in conjunction with the town’s Theatr Mwldan, has hosted live music events since 2015 and is gaining quite a reputation as a fantastic entertainment venue in west Wales - from open-air cinema events to hosting stars such as Tunstall and Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon .
In 2017 the castle received a prestigious award when it scooped Channel 4’s Great British Buildings: Restoration of the Year prize, leading TV presenter Kevin McCloud to compliment its “immaculate appearance”.
