Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) announced Monday that it was dispatching 18 trucks loaded with relief to Hodeidah in war-torn Yemen.

The aid shipment was sent upon the direct orders of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to support Yemenis and ease their suffering in the Hodeidah province, General Director of KSRelief Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah said in a statement.

KSRelief said that the trucks have crossed into Yemen carrying over 360 kgs of food aid.

Rabeeah added that the KSRelief is currently preparing to open two air and sea bridges to deliver food and shelter equipment for Hodeidah.

All KSRelief efforts are closely coordinated with United Nations local partners and the legitimate government of Yemen.

Rabeeah also revealed the relief Center’s intention to send another convoy to Hodeidah, stressing a keenness to deliver humanitarian assistance.

Moreover, he called on international humanitarian organizations to provide relief and assistance to all Yemeni governorates, especially Hodeidah.
