KSI vs Logan Paul rematch: Devin Haney explains why he is 'right with' being on undercard of YouTube fight

Lightweight contender Devin Haney is ‘right with’ fighting on the undercard of KSI vs Logan Paul‘s highly anticipated rematch.

The 20-year-old is just two weeks out from convincingly beating Zaur Abdullaev to become the WBC interim champion – making him mandatory to The Independent’s pound-for-pound king Vasyl Lomachenko.

Haney, first, will appear on the undercard of the two YouTube stars.

The event on 9 November is expected to be a sell out at the Staples Centre, but has drawn plenty of criticism for allowing two fighters who have never had a professional bout to headline a show with world champions.

Haney is excited to be on the card.

“I knew who they were from the last fight they did,” Haney told The Independent at a media workout at the Rathbone Boxing Club in the heart of London.

“I didn’t get a chance to watch it but I knew who they were, the numbers they generated and how much buzz they get so I was with it right when he brought it to me.”

Before Lomachenko, it’s expected that the lightweight contender will face an opponent of relative ease to expose him to a wide audience.

“There was one opponent I was trying to fight, a guy called [Masayoshi] Nakatani. He was the opponent I picked but he turned it down, so we’re on to the next.
