KSI defends Prime drink which has been selling out in stores across the country

KSI has defended his insanely popular soft drink which has left shoppers queuing outside stores in the early hours of the morning.

The YouTube star appeared on The One Show with Dragon's Den star Deborah Meaden to promote his new song Voices which launched last night. However, business mogul Deborah took the opportunity to ask him about his Prime drink, which has become increasingly hard to get hold of in UK stores due to the major demand.

The drink proved so popular at one point that people were reselling the £2 product for £10,000 on eBay.

Deborah quizzed KSI on the popularity of his product. She asked: "So supply, I mean demand has completely outstripped supply, was that part of the plan?"

KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams "JJ" Olatunji, insisted it wasn't as he replied: "No, a lot of people have said that but no. We have tried to increase the supply as much as possible and it's still not enough. In America it's a lot easier to get Prime, it's all over the place.

"But when it comes to the UK it's just hard to find. People are just struggling."

He also defended the controversial taste of the drink which was criticised by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. He remarked that the drink was like 'swallowing perfume' and that he would be fired for serving it in his restaurant.

KSI added: "I knew it would do alright but I didn't think it would take off like this. Me and Logan Paul we just started with an idea, like it would be cool to put this out and see what happens.

"It just went. TikTok went crazy over it. It was all over YouTube and people were making videos about it all the time.

"And people were just enjoying the drink. They were tasting it and being like this is actually good.

"And I think when it comes to YouTubers putting out products it's normally terrible or not very good so I think that's why this has actually had quite a lot of life to it."

KSI has also featured in a brand new Amazon Prime Video documentary which has been produced by legendary documentarian Louis Theroux.
