
Saudi Arabia is about to open more Covid-19 vaccine centers in three cities, which will witness the launch of vaccination campaigns. The Ministry of Health announced on Monday the arrival of new batches of vaccines after the delivery schedules in the world were affected due to the increase in demand.
The ministry called on all citizens and residents to register for the Covid-19 vaccine via “Sehhaty” application, in order to preserve their health and safety, stressing free access to the vaccine for all.
The concerned authorities in the Kingdom continue to take strict measures to combat the spread of the virus. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs Monday closed eight mosques temporarily in five regions after infections were confirmed among worshipers.
A total of 70 mosques were closed within a period of eight days, 57 of which were reopened after the completion of the sterilization and disinfection.
Saudi Arabia on Monday registered 314 new cases of Covid-19 infections and 341 recoveries. The number of active cases reached 2,682, including 472 in critical condition.
The cumulative number of infections in the Kingdom reached 373,046, while recoveries amounted to 363,926 cases. Five deaths were recorded on Monday, bringing the total number of deaths to 6,438 cases.
On the other hand, combined data issued by the Gulf Statistics Center showed that the total number of Coronavirus infections in the GCC countries from February 1, 2020, to February 14, 2021, reached 1,305,857 cases, while the number of deaths reached 10,649.
The data also showed that the recoveries amounted to 1,243,298, with a combined recovery rate of 95.2 percent, topped by Saudi Arabia at 97.5 percent.
