KSA: Notary Offices Issue 250K POAs Digitally in 9 Months

Indicators at the Saudi ministry of justice revealed that over 250K digital power of attorney have been issued online, since the launch of digital notarization service nine months ago.

The ministry launched the digital notarization service which allows low-risk electronic PoAs issuance without the need to visit notarial offices.

The ministry’s initiative to digitize notarization services is part of a bigger plan to enhance the efficiency of the legal sector to achieve objectives of NTP 2020 in line with vision 2030.

The ministry has earlier revealed that digital transformation in notarial services will save around 8 million papers annually, thus boosting people's convenience and contributing to protecting the environment.

Some of the e-notarization services include, in addition to issuing electronic PoAs; checking the status of PoA, revoking a PoA as well as checking PoA profile online to know which entities have checked this specific PoA.
