The Saudi General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) has revealed a royal order stipulating that Saudi food delivery workers shall be covered by COVID-19 relief packages.

Saudi Minister of Finance, Economy and Planning Mohammed al-Jadaan said that the royal decree, issued by King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saudi, has included these workers in the coronavirus relief packages.

The workers will get the benefits retroactively along with September’s payment.

All affected companies can apply to the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), a semi-government body responsible for implementing the provisions of the social insurance law in Saudi Arabia, for compensation for wages under the SANED scheme.

SANED is an insurance program designed to support Saudi workers and their families financially during a period of unemployment for reasons beyond their control.
