Krushna Abhishek on ending 7-year rift with Govinda after gunshot incident: 'If Sunita mami had an issue, she would’ve said...'

Govinda and his nephew, Krushna Abhishek, have put an end to their seven-year-long family rift. Their strained relationship, marked by silence despite Krushna’s repeated attempts to reconcile, now seems to be on the mend. The turning point came as Govinda joined The Great Indian Kapil Show, where the duo shared lighthearted moments and danced together, signaling a new beginning.

Speaking about the reunion, Krushna told Hindustan Times, “Maine stage par bhi bola ki mera saat saal ka vanwas khatam ho gaya. We are together now, and we danced and had so much fun.”

Krushna revealed that the family dynamics started improving after Govinda’s leg injury due to a gunshot accident. The 'Hero No 1' actor had accidently shot himself with his own revolver in the leg. While Krushna was in Sydney for a show at the time and considered canceling it out of concern for his uncle's condition. However, his wife, Kashmera Shah, was the first family member to visit Govinda in the hospital and spoke with him in the ICU. According to Krushna, Govinda's warm response to Kashmera gave him hope that their family ties could heal.

However, Krushna admitted he hasn’t met his mami, Sunita, yet. He remains optimistic about their relationship, sharing that her approval played a role in Govinda appearing on the show. “I think she is fine already otherwise mama wouldn’t have come on the show, as mami handles his work commitments and if she’d have had a problem, she’d have said no to the show or to me. But she didn’t. And then when mama came, we danced and had fun, so I am sure now that mami is 50 percent fine now. I even apologised to her during the show as mama told me ki mujhe nahi mami ko sorry bolo,” Krushna added.

Meanwhile, the show's promo clip also went viral for capturing another lighthearted moment, when the actor recounted how, during a hospital visit, Shilpa Shetty inquired about his wife, Sunita. Upon learning that Sunita was at the temple at the time, Shilpa jokingly responded, "To goli kissne maari? (Then who shot you?)"

The heartfelt reunion on the show has brought a sense of joy and hope for better days ahead for the family. It was a treat for fans to see Govinda and Krushna both together on the show.
