'Kroenke out!' - Arsenal fans start online campaign to remove majority shareholder from club

Arsenal fans have launched an online campaign to remove Stan Kroenke from his position at Arsenal.

The American businessman is the majority shareholder of the north London club, and has even made attempts to purchase the shares required to take full control of the Gunners.

However with Unai Emery's side hugely underperforming versus expectation - not necessarily under the Spaniard's guidance in the last season, but for the last few campaigns - the fans have moved to take action.

The #KroenkeOut campaign has swept across social media in the last 12 hours, becoming one of the United Kingdom's top trending topics.

The campaign may have come from a similar initiative run by the Manchester United supporters.

A similar campaign was launched by fans of Manchester United to remove the Glazer family from the helm at Old Trafford, with #GlazersOut trending in the UK on social media prior to the Kroenke trend.

While it's highly unlikely that such a campaign will force Stan Kroenke to sell his shares, it's certainly not an ideal scenario going into what will be a crucial season at the Emirates Stadium.

Here's what a selection of Arsenal fans have had to say.
