Kroenke and Glazer influence felt as Arsenal fans react to the latest Premier League proposal

Plans by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) to potentially change half-time intervals should absolutely be stopped at once, for the sake of Arsenal supporters and football fans everywhere.

The Daily Mail reported that the lawmakers are considering increasing the 15-minute break to 25 minutes, so half-time entertainment can be introduced.

This is similar to what is seen in American football and especially in the Super Bowl, but it must not be allowed to transfer over to the Premier League.

The Americanisation of the Premier League was already attempted with the introduction of the Super League earlier in the year. That failed and this nonsense will only go the same way.

Arsenal could have a dreadful first half at the Emirates where the fans see the team off with a chorus of boo’s, only for a half-time entertainment show to follow. It would be a ridiculous spectacle.

Not only would the 25 minutes feel like an eternity, as you would be desperate for Mikel Arteta’s side to get back on the pitch and make amends, but you would have to take in a performance from an artist you probably had no intention of watching.

The agitation would be huge. The passion in football is to such a high scale that bottling emotions for such a long amount of time is unthinkable.

Arsenal have tended to start matches very well this season and have been leading at the midway point in five Premier League games.

The fans and the players are bouncing to get back on the pitch and continue the momentum. But a 25-minute break would completely destroy that.

It would create an unfair advantage due to how long the game had been stopped, while players' fitness must also be considered.

Arsenal are prone to injuries, with muscle problems being a major issue. Putting our star players such as Thomas Partey, and Kieran Tierney on a 25-minute break just spells trouble, which Arsenal supporters would not like to risk.

IFAB will meet on Thursday for their Annual Business Meeting, chaired by football's world governing body FIFA, to discuss a number of issues including this supersized half-time.

On the behalf of all Arsenal fans, please put this half-baked scheme in the bin.
