Kristoffer Tonnessen 'targeted' by Hibs as Jack Ross eyes potential Josh Doig replacement

Hibs are reportedly lining up a move for Kristoffer Tonnessen - if they sell Josh Doig.

The Easter Road side are keeping tabs on various players in case Doig’s move away from the club goes through before the end of the window.

Jack Ross wanted a quick resolution to the situation surrounding Doig but nothing has been done so far and Watford are among the clubs who remain interested.

But reports in Norway suggest they are looking at Tonnessen as a replacement for Doig should the youngster be sold for big money.

FVN.no say the Start defender is on Hibs’ shortlist and they have asked the Norwegian side how much he would cost but their valuations are still apart.

Tonnessen has had two caps for Norway’s U21 side back in 2017 and joined Start in 2019 after initially starting his career at Jerv.

He’s currently captain of Start, who are relegated from the Norwegian top flight for the the third time in the last five years, with two promotions in that time as well.

Hibs have started the season well with two wins from two in the Premiership but crashed out of Europe after defeat to Rijeka in the Europa Conference League.
