New Leeds goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson says his transfer to the Premier League still feels “unreal”.
The 20-year-old Norwegian arrived at Leeds United over the summer on a four-year deal for a reported £1.6m from Oslo side Vålerenga.
Klaesson was signed to increase competition among the goalkeepers at Elland Road and has so far only made it as far as the bench, with Illan Meslier keeping his place.
According to SportWitness, Klaesson told the Danish press: “This is still a bit unreal, I have to admit it. It is very nice that Leeds dared this, to bet on me.”
He added: “I may not yet have realised how big a club I have come to.”

Klaesson made his debut for Vålerenga in 2019 and went on to become the club’s first choice between the posts. In total he played for the team 56 times. This season he made 14 appearances before making his way to England.
Speaking of his experience at Leeds so far he said: “I’ve been extremely well received. Every day training is really optimal. We are four goalkeepers in training every day, me and Illan Meslier in the first team as well as two goalkeepers who we would call junior goalkeepers, one of whom is in the under-23 team.”
The highly rated goalkeeper has also appeared for his national team 38 times at various youth levels up to Under 21s.
