Kristoffer Ajer 'targeted by Milan' as Celtic defender gets huge valuation for summer transfer

Celtic defender Kris Ajer is being linked with a mega money summer move to Serie A giants AC Milan.

The Norwegian international has racked up over 200 professional appearances at the age of just 21 and is seen as one of the club's most potentially valuable players.

According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Milan are targeting Ajer as they look to strengthen their defence for next season.

The sale of Mattia Caldara in January saw Simon Kjaer brought in on loan from Sevilla but it's not certain that the Rossoneri will make that move permanent.

The sports daily reports that Celtic value Ajer at around €30million (£27.25million) and there are other European clubs interested in signing him.

The player's agent has already intimated his client will leave in the summer.

Tore Pedersen said: "He will not extend his contract with Celtic and will leave this summer.

"There are several clubs who are interested, but I can't go into their names. There are many who have followed him for a long period.

"There are also clubs who would like to have him, but who cannot afford it.

"There is generally great interest in Kristoffer."
