Kristoffer Ajer seals Celtic exit as Brentford land defender in £13.5m deal

Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer has completed a move to Premier League new boys Brentford.

The Norwegian defender made clear his desire to leave Celtic Park earlier this summer and his wish has been granted after signing a long-term deal with the Bees.

Ajer entered the final year of his contract and indicated it would be best for all parties if he moved on for a fee this summer.

The fee is understood to be in the region of £13.5million.

He leaves Celtic having lifted three Premiership titles, three League Cups and three Scottish Cup trophies.

Celtic look set to bring in Swede Carl Starfelt from Rubin Kazan as a replacement for the Norwegian with the Champions League qualifiers on the horizon.

The begin their campaign from the second round, hosting FC Midtjylland in Tuesday night's first leg.
