Kristoffer Ajer's Celtic transfer exit on the brink as Brentford medical completed

Wantaway Kristoffer Ajer has completed a medical ahead of his proposed move to Brentford according to reports.

The Celtic defender is expected to seal a move to the Premier League newcomers for a fee in the region of £13.5million.

The deal will see the Hoops maximise their profit having bought the Norwegian international for a bargain six figure fee in 2016 from IK Start

The 23-year-old was left out of the Parkhead side's squad for their Champions League qualifier against FC Midtjylland with the move on the brink.

Ajer has entered the final year of his contract and indicated it would be best for all parties if he moved on for a fee this summer.

The Norwegian has not featured for Ange Postecoglou throughout pre-season with youngsters Stephen Welsh and Osaze Urhoghide the preferred pairing in the new era.

Rubin Kazan defender Carl Starfelt also appears to be nearing a move to Celtic Park this summer to bolster the backline.
