Brentford are closing on the signing of Kristoffer Ajer, according to a report.
The Premier League new boys had a bid rejected last week but it now appears like they could get their man.
The Norwegian defender has been looking to leave the club all summer and was frustrated that bids had been rejected.
But now the Telegraph report that Brentford have upped their offer to £13.5million in what is a record fee for them and have beaten competition from the likes of Norwich and Newcastle.
They say that the fee and structure has been agreed and now it’s all down to Ajer agreeing a move.
The Celtic star is likely to agree a move to the London club as he looks to test himself in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old has just a year left on his deal and although Celtic wanted closer to £20m, they appear to have accepted a need to accept a lower offer.
It comes as Ange Postecoglou looks to bring defenders into the club with a deal edging closer for Carl Starfelt.
The Swedish defender is reportedly due to undergo a medical in Moscow, although a Rubin Kazan director insists the deal isn’t fully agreed yet.
