Kristiyan Malinov 'in daily contact' with Rangers as agent issues transfer warning

Bulgarian midfielder Kristiyan Malinov is in "daily contact" with Rangers as clubs in Germany and Turkey circle.

Reports have linked the Ibrox side with a £1.5 million move for the CSKA Sofia star - but his club maintained last week no approach has been made.

Malinov's agent, Marko Mihalevich, claims Steven Gerrard 's side are in constant dialogue as the race to sign him hots up.

Mihalevich insists Malinov is ready to leave Sofia and insists the Premiership outfit have heaped praise on the player, but warned he won't wait forever for an offer.

He said: "We maintain daily contact with Rangers, but we cannot ignore other teams who also want Kristiyan.

"Rangers have told us they like his qualities and fighting spirit.

"He will choose the club that offers him the best development project. He is an ambitious player and it is important to him to play in an ambitious team.

"CSKA know the situation and are aware that Kristiyan wants to take the next step in his career. They have put a fair price on him, in my opinion and they are prepared to sell him.

"He's been one of their best and most consistent players.

"There's been speculation about him going to Universitatea Craiova in Romania, but that's not true. But there are teams in Germany and Turkey who are certainly interested."

Rangers have completed three deals already this window, bringing in Ianis Hagi, Calvin Bassey and John McLaughlin.
