Kristin Cavallari Instagrams message about missing brother

Dec. 07--The brother-in-law of Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler went missing in Utah more than a week ago and over 700 miles from his home in Southern California. Cutler is married to reality star Kristin Cavallari.

Authorities in Grand County, Utah, are searching for Michael Cavallari, who has been missing since Thanksgiving weekend, according to a news release from the Grand County sheriff's office.

On Monday, Cavallari thanked followers on their well-wishes for her brother.

On Nov. 27, police received a report of a car off the road about 5 miles south of Interstate 70 and exit 175. Responding officers found a 2014 Honda Civic abandoned. Authorities searched the area but could not find the driver, the sheriff's office said.

The registration of the car traced back to San Clemente, Calif., and led police to believe Cavallari was the one driving. Authorities then traced credit card receipts to a convenience store in Monticello, east of where the car was found abandoned. Surveillance video at the store showed Cavallari driving the Civic.

The Grand County sheriff is investigating it as an active missing person case, and asks anyone with information on Cavallari's whereabouts to contact the office at (435) 259-8115.

Cutler and Kristin Cavallari welcomed their third child and first daughter Saylor on Nov. 23.
