Kristin Cavallari fires social media staff member for insensitive 9/11 Instagram post

The Hills star Kristin Cavallari has reportedly fired her social media staff member over a "tone deaf" Instagram post.

On Wednesday a new post appeared on Cavallari's Instagram account featuring the reality star in a plunging black dress, standing on the street in New York.

“NYC for 24hrs. And what a time to be here.. always remember,” the caption read.

Several followers of Cavallari commented underneath the post that it was "tone deaf" and " insensitive."

"Wrong picture for the sentiment in the post" wrote another.

According to Page Six, the post had previously been approved as a promotion for Cavallari's Daltile collaboration on Tuesday with the caption "24 hours in New York City" but was shared instead on Wednesday, the 18th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, with the extra wording added.

The post caption now appears to have been modified with the extra wording removed.
