Hellas Verona are chasing Celtic -linked winger Kristijan Lovric, reports the Croatian media.
The 25-year-old is understood to be a target for Ange Postecoglou and after the 25-year-old followed he Hoops on social media, fans have been speculating that a move may be close.
But the wide man could face a choice between the Scottish Premiership or Serie A with Verona reportedly keen as well.
The Italian outfit have seemingly pulled out of the race to sign Rangers target Joey Veerman from Heerenveen, but could be about to battle their Glasgow rivals for Lovric's signature.
Current club Gorica are thought to rival their star man at £5million after he netted 34 goals over the past two seasons.
Celtic have already bolstered their options in the wide areas with the additions of European goalscorer Liel Abada and Japanese star Kyogo Furushashi, but Postecoglou's emphasis on width means he wants depth in those positions.
And the Celtic boss admitted after yesterday's friendly capitulation at home to West Ham that more players could be out the door if they don't want to be at the club.
He said: “I’m not about keeping people happy. If they’re not happy here then they can move on. Representing this football club should give you any joy and happiness.
“I’m not an entertainer. I’m here to hopefully create a culture that maintains the values and traditions of this club and also brings success - I’m not interested in people being happy.”
