Kristian Dennis will celebrate if he scores against old club Chesterfield

Notts County forward Kristian Dennis says he will have no problem  celebrating against his old club Chesterfield if he scores against them this weekend.

The Magpies forward has hit double figures this season which has contributed to lifting Neal Ardley’s side to the National League playoff positions.

He  is vying to start against the Spireites  tomorrow night having   spent two years at the club before  leaving for Notts for a handsome transfer fee in the summer of 2018.

Usually players do not celebrate against their old clubs as a mark of respect, but Sam Clucas shattered that tradition last week when he scored for Stoke against Swansea.

Dennis has already scored one goal against Chesterfield this season having bagged the winner in Notts’ 1-0 win in the FA Trophy.

And he says he will have no qualms about celebrating should he hit the winner against the relegation-threatened Spireites at Meadow Lane tomorrow.

“I’ll go with the moment, but it’s my job to score goals,” he said.

“Notts pay me to do that so I am going to be celebrating if I score this weekend, hopefully.”
