Kristian Dennis confident Notts County injury problems are behind him

Kristian Dennis hopes his injury problems are now behind him, after inspiring Notts County to their first win of the season.

The former Chesterfield striker scored a penalty in the 2-0 victory over Harrogate on Tuesday which was his first goal of the campaign.

It was Dennis’ first start of the season, after missing the first two games through a calf problem that he picked up in a friendly against Alfreton.

But the forward says he has worked hard on his fitness and is ready to help spearhead Notts’ drive up the league table as they prepare to welcome Wrexham on Sunday.

“My fitness is good,” he said.

“I think it was the Ilkeston game when I pulled my calf.

“I’ve done a lot of running in the last week and a half, but it was frustrating to get injured because I came back in alright shape.

“I started off well and to miss the first two games of the season, I was gutted to be honest.

“But hopefully the injuries are behind me now.”
