The movie is based upon real events, including that the holiday weekend is when the Princess decided to split from Prince Charles.

Speaking about the iconic wedding dress scene, where she wore a replica of the stunning gown, Kristen said that the scene was put into a 'montage' of several live events that flash before Princess Diana's eyes.

She opened up further to the publication about her new cinematic role, saying: "Even though I play her as a speculatively 29, 30-year-old person, we still wanted to give a taste of the scope of her life.

"Kind of touch on every part," which is something we will all be able to see in a matter of days when the film is released on November 5.

Kristen, who shot to fame after portraying Bella Swan in the popular vampire romance franchise, Twilight, explained to the publication that while filming Spencer, she realised that she and Diana had common ground.

Touching upon a moment in the film, Lady Diana can be seen walking into a cafe to ask for directions when she was recognised by everybody inside.

Relating to the level of fame that Diana felt back then, the actress spoke about the scene that she had to reenact.

She said: "It’s a little bit silly. There is an absurdist kind of nature to that scene because you’re like, ‘Dude, you are Princess Diana. You just walked into a fish and chips shop'.

“Clearly you know people are going to have this reaction.”
