The 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be a good place this year _ Kristen Bell is hosting.
"The Good Place" star has been tapped as the ceremony's first-ever emcee, executive producer Kathy Connell announced Monday.
"This has been a year in which assumptions have been challenged, stereotypes have been shattered, and precedents have been broken," Connell said in a statement. "We decided to capture the cultural mood by casting aside one of our own traditions, and we're thrilled to have such a talented performer like Bell help us do so."
The Los Angeles ceremony has been an awards season highlight since 1995, and the statues doled out to both television and film stars by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Arts are often seen as early Oscars indicators.
Bell, whose hit NBC comedy was recently picked up for a third season, is no stranger to the stage _ she hosted the Independent Spirit Awards in 2015 with Fred Armisen.
"I am honored to be part of the SAG Awards, and am a little nervous about being its first-ever host," she said in a statement. "I'm so glad that I'll be in the company of my fellow actors, many of whom I've worked with before, so I know they'll be warm and supportive. It's going to be an amazing night."
The SAG Awards take place Jan. 21.
