Krispy Kreme lovers queue at 6.30am to mark brand's first year in Ireland

Doughnut lovers were pictured queueing outside Krispy Kreme at 6.30am on Thursday morning to mark the company's first year in Ireland.

The US chain celebrated its Irish store's first anniversary, after opening in Blanchardstown, Dublin in 2018.

The iconic doughnut company has welcomed over 600,000 customers and sold around 6.6 million doughnuts, which makes it the brand’s most successful store opening internationally.

The iconic Original Glazed doughnut is the most popular among Irish customers, selling over 2.3 million since the opening.

Alex Drysdale, Krispy Kreme Country Director Ireland, said: “This year has been truly remarkable for the brand and I speak for the entire team at the store when I say a big ‘Thank You’ to all our customers for making it a year to remember.

"Thursday is not just about celebrating our ‘First Birthday’ in Ireland, it is about our customers and I would encourage everyone to visit the store across the day to enjoy the party and of course share a doughnut or two."
