Krispy Kreme giving free doughnuts to everyone who has had a lockdown birthday

Krispy Kreme is giving out free doughnuts to customers who have had a birthday in lockdown.

Millions celebrated their birthday at home this year after the coronavirus pandemic hit.

In March, non-essential retailers shut as did pubs, restaurants, hotels and bars and cafes.

But as doors begin to reopen, Krispy Kreme is handing out free sweet treats to customers who were unable to have the birthday they wanted, reports Birmingham Live.

According to the doughnut maker, lockdown started on March 23 and ended when pubs opened on July 4.

Anyone whose birthday is between those dates (March 23 to July 3) qualifies for the offer, all you have to do is show your ID at a Krispy Kreme shop.

By retaining the offer, you get an original glazed doughnut.

Although it's worth noting Krispy Kreme says you do need to buy something to get the offer.

Customers need to spend a minimum of £1.55, but you have until July 19 to take advantage of the freebie.

To find your local visit the Krispy Kreme website.
