Krispy Kreme is set to open its first Dublin City Centre store and second in the capital in 2021.
The US doughnut giant has put pen to paper on a lease for the large outlet at Central Plaza on Dame Street - the old home of the Central Bank.
In 2018, hundreds formed queues in Blanchardstown when the company opened its first outlet in Ireland.
It continues to remain popular among hungry shoppers with no stop at the nearby Shopping Centre complete without swinging through the drive-thru.
The Dame Street building is being developed by US property firm Hines and the Hong Kong-based Peterson group, costing in the region of €100m.
The building will be entirely glazed making it visible to customers and anyone passing by.
The store will also face onto the pedestrian street from Dame Street to Temple Bar with the outlet occupying 234 sq/m of space on plaza level with additional 89 sq/m at sub-plaza level.
Senior managing director of Hines, Brian Moran, said he was delighted to be involved with such an iconic brand which now has another home at an "equally iconic location".
He said: "Krispy Kreme will bring an exciting and beloved retail experience to a whole new customer base and will be perfectly located in the heart of Dublin.
"With the Central Plaza project now nearing completion, we’re looking forward to seeing Krispy Kreme serving up its iconic doughnuts to a very expectant customer audience here in the city centre very soon indeed."
