Krispy Kreme celebrates Chinese New Year with limited-edition hand-piped doughnuts

Chinese New Year is the year of the rabbit, falling on Sunday, January 22 this year. Krispy Kreme are hopping aboard the celebration train by launching a range of limited-edition doughnuts that could almost be deemed too pretty to eat.

Featuring designs inspired by Chinese New Year celebrations, the range includes popular fillings of Lotus Biscoff, and Strawberries and Kreme. This is in addition to two intricately decorated ring doughnuts.

The four exclusively designed doughnuts are great for sharing with friends and family, whether you are having a party at home, or if you're a guest unsure of what to take to a party. Looking at the striking icing adorning the doughnuts, the Chinese New Year limited-edition range is also perfect for enjoying yourself, from the comfort of your couch.

In addition to what Krispy Kreme call 'fan favourites', there will be three all-new flavours as part of the box. There will also be a handpiped version of the iconic Original Glazed, all inspired by the start of the Chinese New Year in a classic red shade used to symbolise good luck and ward off bad fortune.

This Illumination doughnut is gorgeous to look at and eat, because its vibrant red coating emblazoned with a dazzling firework hides a filling of decadent brownie batter (Krispy Kreme)

There is something definitely celebratory about this box of doughnuts. The Illumination doughnut features a pretty firework design with edible stars and is chock-full of a double filling of strawberries and kreme.

If you're feeling lucky, then the Good Luck Wishes doughnut has your name all over it. A delicately piped good luck message, in golden yellow icing sits atop a doughnut filled with Lotus Biscoff Kreme filling.

If you're a fan of the flavour of the Original Glazed - it has over 34,000 hashtags on Instagram - you can enjoy the elegant simplicity of two doughnuts in this big box. The Floral Fortune doughnut is a hand-dipped white iced ring doughnut with intricate cherry blossoms design, whilst the Handpiped Original Glazed simply says Happy New Year.

Bringing in the Lunar New Year, doughnut fans can preorder the limited-edition dozen exclusively through nationwide delivery now.

The Chinese New Year limited-edition dozen doughnuts cost £19.95 and are available for delivery between Monday 16 - Monday 23 January.
