Acclaimed LA designer Waldo Fernandez is known for his sophisticated, livable spaces that blend classic and contemporary elements with luxurious materials and classic color palettes, starting with neutrals. Nowhere perfects his ideology quite like Kris Jenner's Hidden Hills home. Or, even more specifically, her dark gray and veined marble kitchen.
The kitchen, featuring deep gray cabinetry (from Fallow & Ball, no less) and white marble countertops, showcases depth, warmth, and clean elegance, bringing Waldo's design ideology to life. I admit, I was never sold on dark cabinets, especially in my tiny kitchen, where I try to maximize light where possible. However, Kris's space is light, bright, and simply stunning. Suddenly, I'm browsing Farrow & Ball for her shade.
Her dark, neutral kitchen cabinet color, paired with the lighter marble, is timeless yet so simple. It serves as a reminder that the best color combinations are those that have withstood the test of time. As fun as it can be to experiment with bolder trends, the simplicity of Kris's space is eternally beautiful, and you don't need a Santa Monica mansion to follow her example.

Gray kitchens come with Waldo Fernandez's approval, but unsurprisingly, he's not the only expert with an appreciation for this neutral.
'Gray continues to be dubbed by home-interior trends as “timeless,” and when it comes to today’s kitchen, grey cabinets are both warm and tactile. In fact, grey remains highly compatible when used as part of a two-tone interior scheme where solid colours, raw materials, and wood effects all work together to create contrast and define different pieces of furniture and/or function,' comments Matt Phillips, head of operations at Rotpunkt.
However, before following Kris' example, it's important to consider the correct shade of gray for your kitchen.
'Once a warm or cool palette is chosen, it’s easy to elevate the grey units with clever integrated lighting and opt for dramatic contrasts or harmonious tones with the rest of the finishes, textures, and surfaces. Faux marble finishes and tactile timber effects are a great choice to complement the simplicity of grey, as well as lending an element of luxe to an urban vibe,' Matt says.
Lastly, it's vital to consider your choice of hardware. 'Your choice of handles and storage will also play a crucial role in setting the tone and for ease, black accessories like sinks and taps are perfect in a grey kitchen scheme, able to tie in with the hardware and appliances,' he adds.
Whether you opt for a dark gray or a warmer, lighter tone, you can paint knowing it will look just as good years from now. Longevity matters in a kitchen, and Kris's space is the ultimate blueprint.
