Kris Jenner swapped her signature black cropped hairdo for an angular blonde wig ahead of the Met Gala on the advice of her youngest daughter Kylie.
Speaking to E! News on the pink carpet, the reality star and ‘momager’ revealed that the 21-year-old beauty entrepreneur was the driving force behind her dramatically different look.
“A couple of hours ago Kylie decided I should be blonde,” Kris explained.
“She said, ‘Mom, there’s no black hair tonight.’”
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star said that she was “channelling David Bowie” with her look, a custom jumpsuit with exaggerated tulle shoulders by US designer Tommy Hilfiger.
Kris’ short blonde hair was reminiscent of her daughter’s 2017 Met Gala coiffure, and Twitter users quickly picked up on the similarity, joking that she had “borrowed Kylie’s wig” for the event.
“Kris Jenner came to the #MetGala dressed as Kylie Jenner,” one tweet read.
Kylie, meanwhile, opted for an equally dramatic colour change on the night, swapping her signature darker locks for a lilac shade that matched her gown.

She arrived with her older sister Kendall, who wore a feathered orange ensemble.
Their sister Kim Kardashian West wore a wet-look gown by Thierry Mugler, which took eight months to make.
The theme of this year’s event, which is co-chaired by Lady Gaga, Serena Williams, Harry Styles and Gucci’s Alessandro Michele, is Camp: Notes on Fashion and was inspired by Susan Sontag’s essay Notes on Camp.
