Kris Boyd trolls Celtic over club statements as Rangers legend can't hide delight at Europa League win

Kris Boyd didn't hold back as he trolled Celtic over their release of another club statement on Thursday night prior to their game kicking off.

The Rangers legend was working for Sky Sports covering the game between Rangers and Lech Poznan in Poland made sure he got one final dig at the Hoops as he signed off for the night.

He was passing over to Andy Walker to report on the game between Celtic and Lille and the former striker's smile couldn't be bigger as he discussed Rangers.

Boyd raved over the record of Steven Gerrard during his time at Ibrox as the Rangers boss made it 90 wins in 140 games in management.

But Boyd couldn't resist taking a pop at their old rivals as he declared them to have more club statements than wins in recent months.

Celtic have won just two games in their last 12 matches and have released a series of messages to supporters in recent weeks about protests and their support of Neil Lennon.

And Boyd said: "That’s Steven Gerrard’s 140th game for Rangers, his 90th win, they’re into the Europa League last 32 seeded and 26 games unbeaten. 20 of them have been clean sheets, 13 points clear at the top of the table, into the quarter final of the league cup.

"Rangers have done their job tonight, I’ve done mine, I’m going to pass you over to Andy Walker who will take you through the Celtic game, who have, by the way, have made more statements than what they have victories in the last two months so.

"My work is done for tonight. Enjoy your night."
