Kris Boyd lets his Rangers guard down on live TV as trademark cheeser wiped away by last gasp Hearts drama

It's the grin that almost became synonymous with Rangers' unstoppable title charge last season.

But Kris Boyd's grin quickly vanished as Hearts stole a point at Ibrox in the dying seconds.

The Premiership champions battered their Edinburgh opposition but were wasteful in front of goal while Craig Gordon made a series of excellent stops.

He wasn't able to keep out John Lundstram's cracking effort from distance that had the home side in front but an improved Jambos side crept into the game.

And when opposing keeper Allan McGregor fluffed his lines coming for a cross, Craig Halkett was on hand to head home.

Much to Boyd's disappointment.

He was in front of the Sky Sports News cameras on Soccer Saturday as he provided live updates from Ibrox.

And with the game ticking towards the finish in the 88th minute, Boyd let his guard down a little too early, giving a thumbs-up and a big smile.

Cue Halkett's dramatic leveller, and the Rangers goal hero wore a more solemn look.

It's not all bad for Boyd as Steven Gerrard's men still lead the pack in the Premiership table with Robbie Neilson's team still a point behind.

Celtic did make up some of the gap however as they tasted victory at Motherwell, leaving four points between the two Glasgow sides.
