Confident Kris Boyd insists it's "no surprise" that Celtic have decided against giving Rangers a guard of honour.
Interim manager John Kennedy revealed the club will snub the tradition in this weekend's derby against Rangers because their rivals did the same two years ago.
When Kennedy was acting as Neil Lennon's assistant, Steven Gerrard's side opted not to applaud their arch-rivals onto the park on derby day.
Former Ibrox striker Boyd admits he expected the decision from the rivals, but believes the newly-crowned Premiership winners will aim to do their talking on the park.
“It’s no surprise, but I hope everybody that is tuning in gets a great spectacle for Scottish football because that’s what it’s about.
“ Rangers will go there as champions and will look to put on a show.
“ Celtic will want to stop Rangers going the full season unbeaten in the league.
“Listen, there has been a lot made out of it, but it’s a game of football, both teams will go onto the football pitch and try to put on a great spectacle for Scottish football hopefully.”
