Kris Boyd in coronavirus gaffe as former Rangers striker makes bizarre closed doors claim

Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd sparked something of a social media firestorm as he declared "nobody wants to be going and watching their team behind closed doors".

The 36-year-old was a deadly goalscorer in his playing career, scoring 300 professional goals.

Boyd hung up his boots in the summer after a third spell at Kilmarnock , for whom he scored 136 goals.

He has since moved into punditry but this afternoon the former Rangers hero showed he doesn't always finish a sentence the way he finished chances as he discussed the coronavirus shutdown.

Boyd told Sky Sports: "We enjoy sport, whichever it would be that you're associated with.

"You enjoy it for what it is, and nobody wants to be going and watching their team behind closed doors."

Viewers were quick to point out that fans would not be watching their team behind closed doors, as that would in fact defeat the point of playing behind closed doors.

Boyd was famous for his ability to both give out and take stick during his playing career, so we're sure the former Scotland international will take it all in good fun.
