Kris Ajer threw Celtic teammates 'under the bus' claims Frank McAvennie as he tells defender to go to Italy

Fuming Frank McAvennie has accused Kris Ajer of throwing his Celtic team-mates under the bus as he advised his former club to sell the defender to Italy or Germany.

The Norwegian international stated last month that he's had his best season on a personal level, despite the failure to secure a 10th Premiership crown in a row.

McAvennie believes that will have infuriated Ajer's Celtic team-mates, as he claimed the 22-year-old is weak in the air.

And the former striker advised his old club to sell the youngster to Serie A or the Bundesliga where he believes the centre-back won't have to head the ball.

McAvennie told Football Insider : "I think the manager will want rid of him, he hasn’t done anything.

"Ajer doesn’t even want to head the ball so he has to go and play in Italy or Germany where they play with it at the back.

“Celtic need someone who can go and win the ball and he’s not the man to do that, no disrespect to him.

“It’s just not in his make-up and he flung his teammates under the bus last week when he said it’s his best-ever season, I thought that was a strange one."
