Kris Ajer's heart is set on Celtic exit claims 'dressing room source'

Kris Ajer's heart is set on leaving Celtic according to a 'source inside the dressing room'.

The Norwegian defender has been linked with a move away from Parkhead with various clubs around Europe credited with interest.

And The Athletic claims, via an unnamed Celtic player or backroom staff member, the centre-half has told the club and his team-mates about his intentions to leave Glasgow in the near future.

Ajer has two years left on his current contract and the same report says he is not looking to renew it.

Earlier this week, Ajer parted ways with his now former agent Tore Pederson who last season claimed his client was looking to leave Parkhead.

Speaking to the Norwegian media, Pederson said: "My contract with Kris expired this May.

“Why wasn’t it renewed? Kris must answer about his choice, if he wants to.

“Did I want to renew? Yes, of course. Kris is a brilliant guy and a very good central defender.

“I have followed his career since he was 15 years old. I wish him all the best in the future.”

Ajer insists he's not taking any notice of the speculation, but hasn't committed his long-term future with the Premiership champions.

He said: “I have two years left of the contract and do not focus on my future at all. What the media writes, I don’t focus on it.”
