Kris Ajer's enormous Celtic asking price as Milan see offer 'rejected' for Parkhead talisman

A report in Italy states that Milan have had an offer knocked back for Kris Ajer.

The Celtic defender is being followed by some of Europe's biggest clubs, with the Rossoneri particularly keen.

The Serie A giants are looking for a partner for Alessio Romagnoli, and at just 22 the Norwegian fits the bill.

According to Tuttosport, Milan have had a first offer for Ajer rejected and have also seen a bid turned down for Wesley Fofana of Saint-Etienne.

The newspaper believes the Parkhead club are asking for €30million (£27million) for the defender, which would eclipse the fee received for Kieran Tierney last summer.

However, the Milanese hope to take advantage of the fact the youngster's contract expires in 2022 to lower that price.

Meanwhile, Sky Italia reports that Milan have made contact with Ajer's agents to sound out the centre-back over a potential move.

The Celtic star broke off ties with previous representative Tore Pedersen and is now represented by SEG, who look after the likes of Memphis Depay and Marten de Roon.
