Kris Ajer reveals the gruelling Celtic training regime sent to players and his worst habit during lockdown

Celtic Iron Man Kristoffer Ajer reckons he's played more minutes than any other player in Europe this season.

And the 21-year-old believes the break in play for the beautiful game has allowed him a chance to rest after a marathon season.

The Norwegian stopper has already played 57 games this term for club and country and has amassed a total of 4,984 minutes on the park this season, before the coronavirus put football on hold.

He's now returned to his home in Kristiansand, with no prospect of the Premiership season returning any time soon .

And he admits the break may benefit him and Celtic in the long run.

Ajer said: "I was recently sent a statistic that stated I have played more minutes than any other player in Europe this season.

"So my legs need a break now.

"I've been sent a training program by Celtic and I run two or three sessions a day.

"Otherwise, I read a little. I'm incredibly good at reading 30 or 40 pages of a book before I put it away, but maybe I'll finish them now!

"It's actually been wonderful for me to come home and meet the family because I see them very rarely. So it's nice to come home and take a little breather."
