Krankbrother are renowned for throwing one heck of a party. Whether it's their annual street rave in Shoreditch or one of their regular club nights, an electric atmosphere is all but guaranteed.
This weekend their night showcases two heavyweights, Margaret Dygas and Sonja Moonear, who will be playing back to back at E1. Dygas and Moonear are two female DJs at the top of their game in a male-dominated industry. Expect sophisticated minimal techno blended with deep, dubby house.
Moonear made quite an impression in the UK last summer, playing at both Gottwood and Houghton festivals. She was the highlight of London's Junction 2 festival, playing b2b with Nicholas Lutz to a crowd of gleeful revellers. Although Moonear approaches every gig differently, she is sure to take you on a rhythmic expedition across the realms of house, minimal and techno.
E1 has a large warehouse feel to it, with a serious sound system — the Funktion One set up will saturate your very being. There is also a dark room, a 650-capacity club within the club, offering a more intimate feel. Here, there will be an extended set from Krankbrother — brothers Danny and Kieran Clancy. The duo have built quite an empire. After starting out as DJ twosome, they have since launched Krankbrother Records and now run hugely successful events.
